by Isaac EmbryYork City police have charged Sean Michael Deibert, Jr. with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child after the death of an eight-month-old.
Police arrested Deibert, Jr. following a lengthy investigation surrounding the incident that resulted in the child’s death on February 7th, 2023. Deibert, Jr’s case was presented to the York County Investigating Grand Jury, a board of citizens that York County District Attorney Dave Sunday says, “provide prosecutors added tools and ability to solve complex cases that may otherwise go unsolved.”
Police report that on February 2nd, Deibert caused “devasting and pervasive injuries throughout J.D.’s brain, skull, scalp, face, brainstem, neck, cervical cord, spinal cord, and back.” The press release also cites “repeated, severe shaking, impact, compression, and loading” that resulted in the child’s death.
