A bit of a heat wave hit the South Bay this week bringing warm temperatures to area beaches and nudging people outside to enjoy the weather, such as in Hermosa Beach. )The first heat wave of the summer season arrived this week and temperatures up into the 90s are expected to continue across parts of Southern California into the weekend.
By Friday, cities, including Lake Elsinore and San Bernardino, were likely to have temperatures hanging in the low 90s with that continuing through Saturday and Sunday.In Orange County, inland cities such as Fullerton and Brea were likely to hover around the high 70s and low 80s through the weekend and into next week, Sullivan said.
Coastal cities in Los Angeles County, including Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach, were likely to see foggy conditions with temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s, said meteorologist Rich Thompson of the National Weather Service.
