Chimeric antigen receptor T cells have shown promise in treating a number of diseases- including blood cancers.that the patients were in remission six months after receiving the donor-derived treatment. Moreover, two dozen other patients have also received the treatment and a slightly altered product – and the results for them too have been positive to a large extent, as per the report.The process generally begins with the T cells being derived from the patient.
The woman received the treatment was a 42-year-old suffering from a type of autoimmune myopathy – which results in weakness and fatigue.
