A woman born with two vaginas has defied the odds by giving birth naturally to a ‘perfect’ baby girl after a high-risk pregnancy.
Stephanie Haxton, 29, from Alaska, US, was diagnosed with a rare condition called uterus didelphys six years ago after a routine gynaecological exam.‘Being told at such a young age, I just always thought I can’t have children, so I never really pinned my hopes on having any,’ she said.
Two years ago, Stephanie and her partner Ben Luedtke suffered another heartache when she had a miscarriage.To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser thatThe baby was born nine days late, at 41 weeks, last August ‘I was also told it was going to be difficult to carry the baby full term as the uterus she was in was so small.’As there was not much room for her to move during the nine months, doctors were nervous the baby was not going to be able to flip over when she got bigger.
