Woman suspected of drunken driving arrested after crash in Kearny Mesa [Breaking]
A woman suspected of drunken driving was arrested early Friday after a crash in Kearny Mesa left a man seriously injured, San Diego police said.
The collision was reported just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Balboa Avenue and Kearny Villa Road. A 23-year-old woman was driving a white Toyota Rav4 south on Kearny Villa Road, as a 51-year-old man drove his Hyundai Elantra east on Balboa Avenue, police said. The Toyota then entered the intersection and collided with the Hyundai.The man suffered serious injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, while the woman complained of pain to her wrist, police said. Both were treated at a hospital.
Alcohol was a factor in the collision, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Las Colinas jail, according to police.
