A homicide investigation is underway after the body of a woman was found in a ditch early Monday morning in Guntersville, authorities said.
Marshall County Coroner’s Office personnel were dispatched to J.W. Darnell Road in Guntersville around 1:30 a.m. Monday on a female found dead in a ditch, said Coroner Cody Nugent. The victim was identified as 42-year-old Athens resident Faleisha Thompson, said Nugent. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
