Around 4:15 a.m., the victim was struck by the vehicle along Lankershim Boulevard, south of Valerio Street, according to Los Angeles Police Officer Norma Eisenman. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was in a protected crosswalk when she was struck. The victim, a woman in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
