Woman found fatally shot inside a West Englewood home after officers saw fire outside, police said
Officers on duty early Friday morning saw a small fire outside a West Englewood home and later found a 32-year-old woman fatally shot inside, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 12:45 a.m., officers spotted a fire outside a home in the 6400 block of South Damen Avenue, and when they checked inside they discovered an unresponsive woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head, police said.No one was in custody for the shooting, and detectives were investigating.
