A 42-year-old Wasilla woman died Thursday morning after the sedan she was driving collided with a school bus that was not carrying students at the time, Alaska State Troopers say.

PALMER —

Shawna Boice was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which was near Wasilla at Seldon Road and Frontier Plaza Drive, troopers. Troopers and Matanuska-Susitna Borough fire and EMS responders were notified of the crash around 7 a.m. Preliminary investigation showed that Boice was driving a 2012 Chevrolet sedan when it crossed the center line and collided with the Chugiak Children’s Services bus, troopers said. The bus was occupied only by a male driver, who was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for what troopers described as injuries that were not life-threatening.
