Police were investigating late Tuesday after a car struck and killed a woman while she was trying to walk across the street in southwest Houston, officials said.
Officers after 9 p.m. responded to a report of a crash in the 6600 block of Hillcroft Street, officials told On Scene reporters. Emergency responders took a 71-year-old woman to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.Witnesses told investigators the woman had just gotten off a Metro bus and was trying to walk across Hillcroft when a vehicle struck her, officials said.
