Salt Lake Tribune coverage of the Utah Utes and the Pac-12.

With noted Los Angeles-based surgeon Neal ElAttrache having final say over the availability of Cam Rising , Utah’s coach finds himself in a bind about how he can deploy his quarterbacks and best tailor an effective gameplan around the starter.

When asked what specifically needs to happen now for Rising to play, the coach gave a clipped response: “You’d have to ask his doctor.” “Boy, I hope so,” he said. “Again, that’s the same uno doctor that we’re waiting on with Cam, we’re waiting on with Brant.”ElAttrache is a famed orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. ElAttrache is also the head team physician for MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers and the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams. He is an orthopedic consultant to the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks, and the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers.

Given that the coach said pretty recently that Rose’s injury situation likely had made 2023 a lost season for him, suddenly listing him as a potential backup is quite the about-face.

Every Utah Utes Football Player (on Scholarship) Receives Dodge Ram TruckEvery Utah Utes Football Player (on Scholarship) Receives Dodge Ram TruckI apologize in advance if someone could load the news article from KSL.com. As part of the Utah NIL deal and private sponsors, every University of Utah football player on scholarship will receive a Dodge ram truck. Insurance is included. I think BYU has something with every walk on player receives tuition through their NIL deal. How can this be sustainable for college football? However, I do think the transfer portal is having a much larger impact on the game at this point.
