A cold front arrives Saturday bringing areawide rain.
Beginning Saturday morning at 4 a.m., the water level at Lake Houston will be dropped by 12 inches. People living along the lake should secure their belongings.The rain is expected to begin on Saturday afternoon lasting into the overnight. To get ready, Houston Public Works will start lowering the lake's water level at 4 a.m. Saturday. Weather permitting, the lake will be taken down to an elevation of 41.4.
A few inches of accumulation is possible north of Houston and there's where we have a potential to see high water spots and isolated street flooding in poor drainage areas.The rain looks to clear by noon Sunday but skies remain cloudy through much of the afternoon with the high maxing out in the low 70s. Monday is the picture-perfect day with the 70s still around and full sunshine back in Houston. Enjoy it as we return to warmth and rain chances after that.
