Not even the Great Highway is immune to the windy weather that's currently whipping San Francisco.
Southbound lanes of the Great Highway are currently closed due to sand buildup in the roadway, the San Francisco Department of Public Works announced Monday morning. It remains to be seen when those lanes will reopen.According to the National Weather Service, blustery conditions will linger throughout the day as winds blow out of the west northwest from 16 to 22 mph. Gusts could be as high as 30 mph.
The NWS has advised residents in these areas to be careful around unsecured objects, such as tree limbs, and use extra caution when driving.
