Wife of Tennessee murder suspect helped him escape to South Carolina, sheriff says

The wife of a Tennessee man charged with murder and who police say lied about being attacked by a bear in Monroe County now faces charges herself.

An affidavit states Fiber bought a ticket for her husband to flee Knoxville and then get to South Carolina. Authorities caught up with Hamlett at a Columbia hospital late Sunday night, when a staff member recognized his face after seeing it on the news. Investigators later learned Hamlett used the Andrade name when calling dispatchers in Polk County about the murder, and that he had used the name after the murder during his run from the law.
