Nicki Minaj had a bit of a chaotic weekend in Europe. She was arrested, she went live on Instagram, and she capped it off by saying that Princess Diana was a “dear friend.” Allow me to explain.
On Saturday, Minaj was arrested by Dutch police at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport while trying to fly to Manchester for the next stop on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. In a video Minaj shared to Instagram, a man who she latertells her the police want to “search all her luggage.” Minaj also went live on Instagram and recorded the police as they told her she was under arrest for “carrying drugs.
Following her arrest, Minaj was forced to cancel her show in Manchester on Saturday night. “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible,” the venue, Co-op Live,But the show must go on, and Minaj was back onstage in Birmingham on Sunday. She played all the hits, she interacted with the Barbz, and, of course, she asked for a moment of silence for herafter one of her fans told her they were from Wales.
