All of the Jason Bourne movies are dark to some extent, but Matt Damon's personal favorite outing of the series is the darkest of the bunch.
Matt Damon's favorite entry in the Bourne franchise is also the darkest. Few could have predicted the impact the original Bourne Identity would have on the spy genre. Foregoing the outlandish gadgets and exotic locales of the James Bond or Xander Cage movies of the time, it told a grounded story with some propulsive action sequences. For a time, the Bourne saga's shaky cam style of action became all the rage with Hollywood blockbusters too.
