The most prominent is Florida’s Aleksander Barkov, who grew up in Tampere.
The Panthers have three other players from Finland: center Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen , and defenseman Niko Mikkola . Stars center Roope Hintz, who is from nearby Nokia, and teammates Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell are also from Finland. Hintz played two seasons for Ilves and Barkov two seasons for Tappara in Liiga, the top professional league in the country.This is the last of a series of games this season that are connected to the Global Series. The Buffalo Sabres played an exhibition match against Deutsche Eishockey Liga club Red Bull Munich at its new arena on Sept. 27.
