After her lover and stepdaughter were shot to death, Priscilla Davis was sure she knew who killed them: Her husband, Texas oilman Cullen Davis by Noah_Kirsch
Dark Capital is a series that explores the intersection of business, wealth and crime. It’s featured on Sundays.
As she recounted later to law enforcement, Priscilla pleaded for her life. “Cullen, I love you. I never loved anyone else. Why are you doing this?” “Come on, come on,” he replied while trying to pick her up. She shouted and he dropped her before turning back to the house. Another quarter-century before that, in 1967, Cullen Davis met Priscilla Wilborn on the tennis courts at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, when both were married to other people. They meshed well, despite disparate upbringings. Cullen came from money. His dad, Kenneth “Stinky” Davis, made a fortune in the oil business and would eventually divide the family company, Kendavis Industries, among his three sons—before it went bankrupt in 1985.
The couple designed the interior themselves. Priscilla, with a taste for luxury, lined her bathroom with pink patent leather and installed a crystal chandelier above the bathtub. It matched her over-the-top style . She and Cullen moved into their new home in 1971.
