Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle crashed into a cage containing nitrogen tanks attached to the building. Paramedics arrived and determined that Montesinos-Rojas was dead.
A Wheeling man was killed over the weekend when his vehicle crashed into a nitrogen tank cage at a Buffalo Grove business, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. Authorities identified the man Tuesday as 42-year-old Fernando Montesinos-Rojas.
An autopsy indicated that he died from blunt force trauma though toxicology reports are pending, the coroner’s office said Tuesday. Authorities were called at about 4:38 p.m. Sunday to Vapor Bus International, in the 1000 block of Johnson Drive for reports of a crashed vehicle. The crash remains under investigation by authorities. According to the company website, Vapor Bus provides door systems, components and services for buses.
