: They are without a doubt an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco who compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league's Western Conference Pacific Division. Beyond that, not much else can truly be said with ironclad certitude about the defending champs.
Fortunately for the team and the NBA and the arc of the moral universe bending towards justice, Curry is back in the lineup. His anticipated return wasn’t quite triumphant, as his ragtag group of literal defending champions were largely manhandled at home by the junior varsity version of the slumping Phoenix Suns, with essentially nobody who knows how to dribble the ball.
They won five entire games in a row, which is something they haven’t yet managed with Curry in the lineup! This is a moderately impressive feat and should be commended! Yes, there are caveats, such as “all of them were won in the safety of Chase Center,” but look into your heart and tell me with a straight face you predicted embarrassing the aggrieved and complete Memphis Grizzlies on Christmas Day.
