Kalen DeBoer was hired, first bringing along OC Ryan Grubb from Washington, before Grubb defected back to Seattle for the NFL’s Seahawks and Nick Sheridan was promoted.
“He’s been consistent,” DeBoer said Monday ahead of UA’s 2024 season opener against Western Kentucky. “And that’s what I think one of the biggest qualities you can have is consistent. Obviously you want to consistently be at the highest level that you possibly can.
Playing for a coach who helped put the likes of Michael Penix Jr. and Jake Haener in the NFL, he’ll face high expectations. During Monday’s press conference, offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan was asked what he wants to see from Milroe against Western Kentucky on Saturday. Besides the new system, Milroe will have a cadre of new weapons for the Crimson Tide this season. Those include Washington transfer wide receiver Germie Bernard, along with his fellow former Husky, center Parker Brailsford.
