Weather forecast for Greater Manchester as cold snap hits with Met Office ice warning in place
It will be a chilly start to the week in Greater Manchester with a yellow weather warning for ice in place.
The Met Office said icy surfaces 'are expected to develop following wintry showers leading to some difficult travelling conditions'. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible, as well as icy patches on the roads, pavements and cycle paths.The warning comes as a cold snap hits the UK, with temperatures dropping to below 0C in many areas bringing the possibility of snow showers.
In Greater Manchester, people will wake up to temperatures of around 3C this morning - though it will feel more like 0C, according to the Met Office. The mercury is set to drop throughout the day, falling to 1C by around 6pm then 0C by 9pm.
