‘We’ve got to get better’: Perry football is undefeated and unsatisfied with playoffs approaching

The Perry Pirates are Ohio's No. 1 ranked team in Division V, and they won't be satisfied without a state championship.

PERRY, Ohio -- With an undefeated record entering the final week of the regular season, the Perry Pirates are on the brink of entering the OHSAA’s Division V football playoffs as a heavy favorite to claim a state championship in early December.

But despite running through the Chagrin Valley Conference’s Chagrin Division, going wire to wire as the top ranked team in the Associated Press state poll and accumulating the most points among any Division V team in the OHSAA computer ratings, which determine playoff seedings, head coach Bob Gecewich’s squad has remained hungry and unsatisfied.
