The devs of Diablo IV are well aware of the complexity of the game's customization and skill trees, and they 'don't want to overwhelm players' with too much too fast. We chat solutions to that potential problem & more in this interview: DiabloIV

Recently Screen Rant was invited to join in an exclusive interview with Diablo 4 developers to discuss some of the features the game will provide players for customizing the look and the gameplay style of characters. The skill tree and paragon board in the game can be a bit daunting but gives users the chance to tweak their skills and abilities to best fit how they enjoy playing the game.

Adam Z. Jackson: "We don't want to overwhelm players, we don't want the number of choices they have at the beginning to be too large, and that's why when you look at the entire skill tree at once it can be a decent amount of things to draw, but you have to remember that we actually space out almost all of the customization content as far as the character and build creation over a long period of time while you're playing.

Character Creation In Diablo 4 Is Bigger Than Any Diablo Game Has Ever Had The character creation will matter in many ways for Diablo 4, as Melissa Corning explained that the player character will show in the cutscene cinematics and more in a way that brings a deeper immersion than previous titles had. The individual looks that players design for their characters will be seen throughout the game, and transmogs and the gear worn will further help to make it all unique.

Similarly, when asked if runewords will still be seen in Diablo 4, Adam Z. Jackson stated, "We like runewords, they are very cool. We don't have anything to announce as far as if they are going to be in the game in the immediate future. We do think they are still a really cool idea." and left it at that.
