It is not something you see every day and the fact that now more than half the shrimping fleet has been returned to the water after Florida's devastation from Hurricane Ian is uplifting.
Hurricane Ian wreaked havoc with the local shrimp industry when it came roaring ashore on Sept. 28, 2022.
Reporter Janine Zeitlin and visuals journalist Andrew West recently collaborated on an in-depth look at the dramatic impact and the steps being taken to recover. Earlier this week West was able to be on site when one of the shrimp boats that had been tossed on shore was being returned to the water via a giant crane and other means. It is not something you see every day and the fact that now more than half the fleet has been returned to the water is uplifting for all of us who are looking for a return to normalcy after what Ian did here.
