Warrior Nun writer David Hayter reveals the show's fan-favorite romance between Ava and Beatrice was filmed in secret after Netflix banned it.
Warrior Nun writer David Hayter revealed the show's relationship between Ava and Beatrice had to be filmed in secret after Netflix wouldn't allow it to happen. Since Warrior Nun's cancelation in December 2022, there has been a campaign to get Warrior Nun season 3 to become a reality. Part of their passion is centered around the budding romance between the show's protagonist, Ava, and her friend Beatrice, which was heavily featured in Warrior Nun season 2.
Starting at 7:29, Hayter details how the writers of Warrior Nun season 2 had to avoid putting the romance in their scripts, but made it a key part of the story anyway. Check out Hayter's full statement below: So Sara Walker, who directed the first two episodes of season 2 and a couple episodes in season 1, she came in and she read the script. And she said, 'Oh, so we're not gonna go with the Avatrice storyline?' And we're like, 'No, we are. We just can't put it in the script. So every time you see "she loves her life a friend," just understand that's the story we're telling.' So we didn't tell Netflix what we were doing.
