North Texas’ booming industrial building market is starting to hit the brakes, even though Dallas-Fort Worth still leads the country in total

Dallas-based Landsea Homes Corp. is expanding into the Colorado housing market by acquiring the assets and lot inventory of Longmont-based Richfield Homes.Construction will start early next year on apartments that will be added to The Hill shopping center on U.S. 75 in North Dallas.Through the third quarter, net industrial building leasing in D-FW totaled 23.6 million square feet, according to property firm Avison-Young. Overall industrial vacancy has risen to about 8.

Lisa DeNight, industrial research managing director with Newmark Group, said warehouse building is falling off in many markets across the country.
