A woman was found dead inside a Northside home Thursday evening by a visitor who was coming to stay with a family member during Hurricane Milton, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Police were called just before 6 p.m. Thursday to the home on Pheasant Drive, which is south of Dunn Avenue.Investigators said they learned that the person who found the woman had come to stay at the home with a family member during Hurricane Milton.“Right now, we don’t know the circumstances surrounding the incident or the relationships of those involved," JSO explained. “Because of this, the classification of the incident is pending.
