Viewers vowed to watch BBC's Happy Valley over ITV's Love Island as their schedules clashed for the first time. The choice seemed an easy one for those sat in front of their TVs on Sunday night , opting for drama in the streets of West Yorkshire rather than in the sun-soaked villa.
Fans of Happy Valley were eagerly awaiting the drama of the next episode to air, with Sarah Lancashire's Sgt Catherine Cawood continuing to question how she should deal with her grandson Ryan visiting his biological dad Tommy Lee Royce, who is behind bars.And it seemed viewers favoured the hour-long drama over the sun-soaked love triangles over on ITV, with many taking to Twitter to share which of the two shows they would be watching - and the dramatic police drama certainly came out on top.
