A Utah Highway Patrolman walked away with minor injuries after his patrol car was hit in Weber County when he pulled off to the shoulder to clear debris off the freeway.
Wirth was parked on the shoulder with the lights of his patrol car activated when a driver swerved to avoid the plywood, hitting Wirth's car, officials said. He remembers sitting there on the side of the highway with his emergency lights on when a vehicle swerved. The impact lead to a multi-vehicle accident.
