A man who was reportedly robbed in the city centre was left without his mobile phone and wallet. At around 5am on Monday, June 5 , Nottinghamshire Police were called to Milton Street in the city centre following reports the victim had been threatened by a man.
The suspects made demands to the victim to hand over his property, before he fled with his phone and wallet, according to police. Response officers interviewed the victim and viewed CCTV footage, which allowed them to quickly distribute an image of the suspect to other officers searching the area. Less than 45 minutes after the incident took place, a suspect was arrested. A 31 year old man was arrested in an alleyway off Alfreton Road at around 5.45am.He remains in police custody. Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers worked quickly and with great professionalism after being alerted to this robbery and I’m pleased we have a suspect under arrest.
“No one should be threatened in the street, or have their belongings taken from them like this. It must have been very frightening for the victim and I’m pleased we were able to take swift action. “Our investigation remains ongoing and I’d urge anyone with any information or dash-cam footage which could help to get in touch.” Anyone with information should call the police on 101 quoting incident number 80 of 5 June 2023, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
