Uvalde , a community torn by recriminations over the performance of its police department during the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School , has a new police chief. Acting chief Homer Delgado will become permanent chief effective this weekend, city officials said Thursday. He replaces Daniel Rodriguez , who announced his resignation last month after six years as chief. The resignation takes effect Saturday.
