PUBLISHED 11:34 AM CDT Jun. 02, 2022UVALDE, Texas — The last days of school were supposed to be full of joy, triumph and celebrations. Instead, it was full of pain, trauma and tragedy for Uvalde CISD.

With permission from their grandmother, two children described the moment shots rang out at Robb Elementary School and the devastation that followed. Two young girls and their grandmother digested the news of yet another school shooting, but this time it was just blocks away from their Uvalde home.Lara's granddaughter Selene is a Robb Elementary student. Selene described the tragic moment a bullet passed through her classroom.

"When it all started, my class was getting ready to go to recess. We were still in the classroom. Then we heard a gunshot. Then it just all broke out," Selene said. "It broke the glass but it didn’t hurt anybody. It shot above the cabinets, on the wall." Learning about the 21 lives tragically ending, including her former teacher's, broke her sister Saphira's heart. The loved ones held tight to each other and the strength that their faith provides.
