The UTSA Roadrunners secured their 10th win of the season with a decisive victory against Charlotte in their American Athletic Conference opener. Led by Jordyn Jenkins' 18 points, four players reached double figures for UTSA. Meanwhile, Incarnate Word cruised to victory against Our Lady of the Lake with a dominant defensive performance, and Texas State's strong defense stifled Marshall in their Sun Belt Conference opener.

Jordyn Jenkins scored 18 points to lead four UTSA players in double figures as the Roadrunners continued a hot start, winning their American Athletic Conference opener 64-50 on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C. UTSA is 10-2 to open the season, with the only losses coming on the road by single-digit margins against Power conference opponents Texas A&M and Stanford. The Roadrunners are out to their best start since the 1985-86 season, when the team opened 11-1.

Jenkins scored 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting with five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Sidney Love and Maya Linton each scored 11 points, with Linton grabbing a game-high nine rebounds, while Nina De Leon Negron scored 10 with a game-high seven assists. UTSA jumped out to a 17-3 lead in less than four minutes and never allowed Charlotte (5-7) to trim the margin closer than seven points. The Roadrunners’ defense held the 49ers to 29.4% shooting with 25 turnovers. Incarnate Word 104, Our Lady of the Lake 37 The Cardinals shut out the Saints through the entire first quarter, riding a dominant defensive effort to a lopsided win Sunday in the McDermott Center. UIW (7-4) led 26-0 after the opening period, holding Our Lady of the Lake (4-7) to 0-for-9 shooting with 13 turnovers and no free-throw attempts. The Saints scored their first basket with 8:03 remaining in the second quarter. Shiho Isono led the Cardinals with 19 points in just 20 minutes, hitting 7 of 10 shots. Destiny Whitaker notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench. Texas State 60, Marshall 49 The Bobcats’ defense limited Marshall to just 26.8% shooting to grind out a win in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams Sunday in Huntington, W.Va. The Thundering Herd hit just 15 of 56 shots from the field and 4 of 28 (14.3%) from beyond the arc, allowing the Bobcats to win despite shooting just 30.9% overall and 23.8% from 3-point range
