Former University of Utah starAlissa Pili has been selected No. 8 overall by theMinnesota Lynx in the WNBA draft.

Pili, who is from Anchorage, Alaska, played three seasons at the University of Southern California before heading to Utah. According to a press release from the school, Pili was the seventh athlete from Utah to be drafted into the WNBA, with eighth being the second highest draft pick in Utah history.Pili was the second Utah women's basketball player to be drafted under head coach Lynne Roberts."In her senior season at Utah, she led the team in scoring with her 21.4 points per game average which ranked No. 13 in the NCAA," the school reported.
