The U.S. on Friday banned imports from China-based printer maker Ninestar Corp and a Chinese chemical company over alleged human rights abuses.

Senator Marco Rubio said "while today’s announcement by DHS to punish more bad actors is welcomed, it is just a drop in the bucket and must go further." DHS said the actions were taken as part of the U.S. Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Act , which was signed into law in December 2021. The act prohibits imports into the U.S. that are either produced in Xinjiang or by companies identified on an UFLPA Entity List, unless the importer can prove the goods were not produced with forced labor.
