Carter BloodCare is urging people to donate blood, adding that some blood types are in very short supply right now.Carter BloodCare provides blood to hospitals in North, Central, and East Texas. It’s the main blood supplier for most North Texas hospitals.But the organization said it currently has less than one day’s supply of O- and B- blood.When donations are this low, hospital patients may have to wait for blood transfusions. 'Accidents happen every day. Emergencies happen every day.
It’s the unexpected we need to be prepared for,' said Carter BloodCare CEO Veronica Moore. 'We want to be able to see a full stock here available to make sure that we can be prepared to take care of any needs a patient needs today.'
