The upcoming Pacific Rim TV show will be paying off one of the best scenes from Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 masterpiece. The Kaiju franchise, which debuted in 2013, has been a hit with audiences and critics, and has expanded its universe to include an animated series produced by Netflix. The franchise is set in the future, where the Earth is attacked by giant monsters. In response, the governments of the world create attack robots called Jaeger to defend humanity.

Between all three entries, one is the best in the Kaiju franchise. The iconic filmmaker used TV footage to reveal how the Kaiju attacked humanity, the destruction they brought, and how the Jaeger were created to defend the planet. The fact that the K-Day montage doesn't last long or reveal too many details about the Kaiju and Jaeger left audiences wanting more. Seeing as the K-Day montage is one of the most significant parts of the movie, it will be interesting to see if the upcoming Pacific Rim TV show will include something similar.
