First Interstate Properties plans to renovate the upper floors of the University East building in Cleveland's University Circle into luxury apartments. Construction will begin this summer, with units available by August. The 48 residential units will feature updated kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and lighting, as well as new community spaces. The ground level retail space will remain unchanged.
CLEVELAND , Ohio -- Plans are underway to bring fully renovated apartments to the upper floors of the University East building on the corner of Euclid and Mayfield Avenues in University Circle .
First Interstate said construction on the 1926-built structure will begin this summer, with units being available by August. There are no immediate plans to change the ground level retail space, home to businesses like Rascal House Pizza, Chopsticks Chinese, and Capo Steaks. Kate Borders, president of University Circle Inc., the nonprofit development organization for University Circle, expressed confidence in First Interstate’s plans.
