Whale shark spotted off the coast of Australia ? It might not seem like an unusual sentence at first glance... but it becomes truly remarkable when you consider where exactly this one was found.
D’Emilio’s encounter with the whale shark was anything but planned. He attributes his stroke of luck to a peculiar combination of timing and, oddly enough, his friend Toby’s bout of sea sickness. “It was pretty funny. I was with my mate Toby and I wanted to go to a spot that was out in the middle and it gets a bit of swell. The only reason we went back is because was feeling seasick and wanted to sit on the island for a bit,” he told.
