The UFC's upcoming pay-per-view event on March 8th is starting to take form with several prelim bouts reportedly confirmed.
The UFC is preparing a pay-per-view card for March 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While it is unlikely that any main card fights are locked down yet, it appears all or most of the prelims are in place. The Lemos - Lucindo bout has a great chance to open the pay-per-view portion of the show or to at least be the featured prelim. No. 5 Lemos will be trying to hold her ground against her hard-charging countrywoman Lucindo .
Lucindo, at just 22 years old, is one of the youngest fighters in the UFC and the youngest ranked fighter in any weight class. Lemos represents a huge test for Lucindo, and a win would land the latter in the Top 5 and close to a title shot in the UFC women’s strawweight division. Another intriguing matchup has Vitor Petrino moving up to heavyweight to fight Jhonata Diniz. Both fighters are coming off recent stoppage losses. Diniz was outclassed by Marcin Tybura at UFC 309 after originally being scheduled to fight Derrick Lewis, who fell ill after weigh-ins. Instead, Diniz faced the veteran Tybura at Madison Square Garden and was no match for the seasoned Polish fighter’s ground game. Petrino’s career is in a tough spot. After scoring a string of impressive stoppages at light heavyweight, he has hit a wall. In May 2024, he was submitted in the first round by Anthony Smith at UFC 301. In December 2024, Dustin Jacoby knocked him out cold with a right cross. It’s a little surprising to see Petrino scheduled for another fight so soon, but he may be done attempting to cut weight to make 205 pounds
