Cruz lauded for cutting taxes and regulations by the group, which had endorsed Democrat Allred in his previous congressional races.WASHINGTON – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is endorsing U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s reelection bid, a show of support that comes as the incumbent Republican and his Democratic challenger, U.S. Rep. Colin Allred of Dallas, spar over who is best for the state’s economic future.
Neil Bradley, the chamber’s executive vice president and chief policy officer, praised Cruz’s policy positions and said the organization looks forward to working with him on growing the economy. Allred held a roundtable discussion Thursday highlighting the CHIPS and Science Act that has resulted in billions of dollars flowing to new semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the state. That includes $1.6 billion to support
“People should know that we don’t have to have a Senator for six more years who’s uninterested in making these investments,” Allred said. “You want to talk about being pro business, I’ve been endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce my last two elections. That’s fairly unusual for a Democrat.”
