Two high school juniors are being hailed as heroes after a terrifying situation unfolded at their school Sunday.
A basketball player on the post-grad team at Winston-Salem Christian School in North Carolina went into cardiac arrest during an open gym for school students.The quick thinking of two exchange students at the right place at the right time helped save his life.'I haven't witnessed anything like this before,' Szymon Koszyca said. 'It was shocking.' 'Suddenly, I heard someone bonk on the floor,' Koszyca said. 'I turned around and saw DJ laying on the floor.
'Downie says he had tunnel vision and was going to do anything and everything in his power to help save DJ's life, and he did.'I just didn't stop, and it took me about two to three minutes worth of CPR,' Downie said. 'It was a lot of rounds of CPR, and just when I was starting to think maybe he's gone, he came back, and it was just — I can't even describe the feeling in words. It was just phenomenal.
