The vehicle struck three people on a road near Pontypridd and despite efforts of emergency services, a man and a woman died at the scene.
Two people have died and another person injured in south Wales following a collision between a car and pedestrians.
A spokeswoman said:"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, two pedestrians, a man and a woman, both aged 32, and from Pontypridd, died at the scene. "Our thoughts remain with the man and woman's family and friends. Their next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers."
