A man and a woman who exchanged gunfire at a Beach Park gas station early Sunday have been taken into custody, the Lake County sheriff’s office said.
Morales and a Zion man, who was with Selvy, got into an argument, police said. Selvy then produced a handgun and shot the 21-year-old Wadsworth man with Morales, police said. Morales then pulled out a gun and began firing, and Selvy was hit twice, police said.
The two groups both drove off. Selvy appeared a short time later at the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The Wadsworth man was dropped off at Vista East Medical in Waukegan for treatment of what police said was a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.Morales was taken into custody Monday and charged with a felony weapons charge. Selvy had active warrants out, police said, and she was taken into custody following her release from the hospital.
