Authorities took two fugitives into custody Thursday night after one of them reportedly attacked a Taylorsville K-9 officer and the other
Taylorsville police said that they responded to assists in the arrests of these two fugitives, whose identities were not released, though they quickly determined that neither were cooperative upon arriving to the initial scene. One of the suspects reportedly barricaded himself inside of a Sandy City residence in an attempt to avoid arrest. Police said that he attacked Taylorsville K-9 Officer Turbo after they gained access to the home.The other fugitive fled in a vehicle and collided with another car when he sped through a red light at 6200 South 2700 West.Both he and the other driver involved, a 59-year-old woman, were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A portion of the road where the crash occurred was closed early Friday morning while crews worked to restore power.
