Westlake police arrested two Detroit men for a credit card fraud scheme after a local woman reported over $400 in fraudulent charges. The investigation led to surveillance video of the suspects using the stolen credit card at a Walmart in Avon. The suspects were later apprehended at a Meijer in Avon, where police found several counterfeit credit cards and a scanner used to imprint stolen credit card numbers. Investigators believe the stolen credit card numbers were obtained from the dark web or other online sources.

WESTLAKE, Ohio - Westlake police have arrested two Detroit men in connection with a credit card fraud scheme after a local woman reported over $400 in fraudulent charges on her credit card.The victim contacted police on Jan. 29, prompting an investigation that led detectives to surveillance video from a Walmart in Avon where the fraudulent purchases were made.

Police also recovered a scanner used to electronically imprint the stolen numbers onto the counterfeit cards.
