and took the chance to spill the beans about his almost-casting on the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular book saga.
Speaking to Kelly, Tyler revealed he was in the running to land the role of Jacob when casting for the firstfilm was underway. "I was up against Taylor Lautner; it was between he and I," the now 31-year-old star revealed. "It would have been huge, but I was really young," Tyler continued. "I was like 16. I wasn't ready for that type of attention that he got. So I had to wait a couple more years.
Taylor Lautner himself had previously opened up about the pressure he felt after being jet-propelled into stardom whenadmitted to having suffered from anxiety while portraying Jacob across the saga's five films , though he later grew to view his experiences as a learning curve. "I went so many years either not leaving my house or if I did, I had sunglasses... I didn't know it but I was scared to go out. I'd get super anxious to go out so I just didn't," Taylor said at the time. Thankfully, Taylor can say that he feels “so much better” now and finally feels comfortable re-entering the limelight and the public eye.
