Twilight is definitely campy and not groundbreaking cinema or anything philosophical, but it is a fun and cheesy teenage drama that has earned its place in history as a cultural phenomenon that drove an interesting wedge between fans, forcing them to choose between Team Edward or Team Jacob and sparking lighthearted debates.When you consider it through the lens of the audience it's trying to entertain, Twilight is a completely fine movie.
Is it the most amazing story to come out of the film industry, no. Does that make it any less great? no. This entertained me and captured my little tween heart from the very beginning and I STILL get emotional when I watch these movies. They brought a huge group of people together in a way that just doesn't really happen anymore.
