For television viewers seeking fresh Valentine's Day content, several shows are embracing the spirit of love this year. 'Shifting Gears,' which premiered in January, delves into Matt's (Tim Allen) personal life following his wife's passing. Allen previously hinted at the sitcom's intention to explore his character in an unconventional light. 'From the very beginning, we've never seen Tim Allen in a sitcom with a romantic interest,' he shared with Us Weekly.
'And I said, 'Well, I've just lost my wife so I don't see it.' So I love where we are. I said, 'If it happens over time and happens organically with two people that do not get along then it is OK. I just am really cautious about this. I just want it to happen where it's organic and proper.' The actor expressed enthusiasm for finding common ground between the show and his personal experiences, adding, 'This is a new character and it's much closer to who I am. I've been through grief in my life with losing my father. I've been blessed to be a comedian and so that's who this is. If I did it again, I wanted to get as much closer to who I am.' Meanwhile, 'Yellowjackets' returns with a time jump in the past. 'One thing that's always been important to us is that the timelines are really interconnected in terms of the characters and the totality of the characters and the consequences of what they went through didn't end in the past,' creator Ashley Lyle told Entertainment Weekly in November 2024. 'What we see is a continuation of some of the tensions and resentments that were building in season 2. And those really play a large part in how the girls continue to interact this season.' 'Elsbeth' (CBS) Sparks will fly between Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) and a handsome Scottish musician named Angus (Ioan Gruffudd) after he witnesses a murder through a video art installation. 'The Rookie' (ABC) Tim (Eric Winter) and Lucy (Melissa O'Neil) get an unromantic assignment ahead of a charity gala where multiple relationships come to a head.
